Seminar

The fundamental interest lies in development issues for developing countries. The first half of this seminar will, therefore, focus on basic knowledge of important aspects of development and economic development. These include the issues of poverty and economic disparity in developing countries; social problems of education and development policies (e.g. industrialisation); and international aid problems for developing countries. Learning centres around major titles on these matters. In the latter half of this seminar, we further examine the aforementioned issues via group discussions, presentations and the continuous reading of major titles.
This seminar is best-suited to students interested in the reality of developing economies, such as the BRICS countries, and the abovementioned issues faced by those countries.
