Seminar

In this seminar, we study the Japanese language and linguistics. We deal with issues of social life and language. We consider the relationship between language problems and economic activity by means of focusing on familiar expressions used in advertisements, fashion magazines and product names, etc. Year-2 students summarise linguistics papers and provide a weekly group presentation. In the second half of the seminar, for the future job-searching activity, Year-2 students hold an individual presentation on the corporate research. Year-3 students collect linguistic examples and examine characteristics of daily expressions in Japanese in order to prepare a report as a group work.
